Finding Recent Immigrants – (i.e. post-Civil War)

Many books are available. You can also write to localities where the relatives came from but be prepared to speak/write their language. You can also get information from the LDS church via one of their local history centers (go to the web site www.genhomepage.com/FHC/all.html or consult the Business Section of the White Pages under "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" and look for the Family History Centers).
